Michael A. Ventrella primarily writes humorous fantasy and science fiction. His novels include Big Stick, following in the footsteps of Bloodsuckers: A Vampire Runs for President and his young adult fantasy trilogy Terin Ostler and the Arch Enemies, Terin Ostler and the War of the Words, and Terin Ostler and the Axes of Evil. There’s also an anthology of all of his short stories in Terin Ostler and the Zombie King (and Other Stories).
Mike has numerous short stories that have appeared in various anthologies, including the Heroes in Hell series and the Archives From the Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences series. He also edits short story anthologies, including the fantasy-oriented Tales of Fortannis, a Sherlock Holmes-themed series called Baker Street Irregulars (co-edited with NY Times Bestselling author Jonathan Maberry), Release the Virgins! and the Beatle-themed anthology Across the Universe (co-edited with Randee Dawn).
As a lawyer a former Constitutional Law professor, he has also authored the nonfiction work How to Argue the Constitution with a Conservative. He’s also written nonfiction books about the music of The Monkees with cultural historian Mark Arnold and a book about The Beatles.
He is a regular speaker at science fiction conventions, is the founder of the Pocono Liars Club, and has hosted the Pocono Writers Conference since its inception.
