Vikki Romano’s love for SciFi goes back to her childhood. Absorbing movies like Tron and Terminator and great oldies like War Games was a catalyst for an ever-curious mind.
In college, she was a true cyberpunk and gloried over works by Gibson and Dick. Reveling in the hacker’s manifesto like a warrior, she actually long for a world like Blade Runner.
In the advent of technology she rode the electronic wave of the dot com lifestyle in her 20s. It was an exhilarating time to be alive, to see where tech could lead. Being involved in the field as a database engineer and later as a satellite tech and web designer, she had her fingers in all of it and continually marveled at what lie ahead.
Now, years later, she is still amazed at what technology and science have continued to churn out. Dystopian worlds are not far off, and with her techie past, she has more than enough ammo in her brainpan to fill many more books. And many more shelves.
She also writes history and romance under the name Victoria Oliveri.
